Investigating differential RNA silencing suppressor activity of PVY strains, their mutants and chimera. My research work at UoH included cloning of different mutants and chimaras of PVY strains PVYO and PVYN in binary vector and testing their RNA silencing suppressor activity in N. benthamiana plants using Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain GV2260 mediated infiltration. I observed differential silencing suppressor activity among various mutants and found that PVY strain PVYN has stronger silencing suppressor activity. |
