Title and Brief report of the work (max 300 words) |
''Studies on virus infected plant proteomics and RNAbased vaccination strategies using model and regionally important plant viruses ''. The work focuses on development of RNA based vaccinationation strategies , we have mainely concetrated on RNA vaccination of tobacco plants by introducing dsRNA targeted to viral silencing supressor genes. We have also studies the early stage proteomic and transcriptomic changes in the tobacco plants upon exogenous application of dsRNA molecules. The other pathosystem we have used is the Sesbania grandiflora and Sesbania mosaic virus, the dsRNA based vaccination have given a promising resistance in this pathosystem also. |
