Basanta Kumar Borah, PhD is an Assistant Professor at the Assam Agricultural University, India. He was born on June 30th, 1978 in Assam, India. He obtained his BSc (Agriculture) and MSc (Agricultural Biotechnology) degrees from Assam Agricultural University, India; and his PhD (Plant Molecular Biology) from University of Delhi South Campus, India. Thereafter, he spent around three years in University of Basel, Switzerland as a Postdoctoral Associate before joining into Assam Agricultural University, India in early 2012. He has been working with plant viruses since his PhD and has presented oral and poster presentations in nearly 18 Indian and international conferences. He has also attended several training courses in India as well as in Europe. He has published 15 peer-reviewed papers, 1 book chapter and several articles in popular magazines. Currently he is running three externally funded competitive projects as PI and is associated with several others as co-PIs. He is serving as one of the five Indian partners of the Erasmus Mundus Action-2 programme under BRAVE. He is associated with several academic and extension activities of Assam Agricultural University. He also serves as reviewers of a few Indian and international journals.
