Tamas Dalmay, PhD is a Professor at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, United Kingdom. Tamas was born on 29 July 1966 in Budapest, Hungary. He obtained his BSc and MSc from the University of Budapest, Hungary and his PhD from the Hungarian Academy of Science for his work at the Agricultural Biotechnology Centre, Godollo, Hungary. He then worked in the group of Prof David Baulcombe for 7-year at The Sainsbury Laboratory, Norwich, UK before obtained a Lectureship at the University of East Anglia in 2002. |
Tamas' group works on gene silencing/RNAi and focusing on small non-coding RNAs in a number of different plant and animal systems. He has published 89 peer-reviewed papers, 9 book chapters and filed 2 patents. He has received funds from various national funding agencies (BBSRC, NERC, Wellcome Trust, Arthritis Research UK, British Heart Foundation) and participated in a number of international projects. He coordinated one ERA-NET project and was a sub-project leader in a large EU-FP6 project: Silencing RNAs:organisers and coordinators of complexity in eukaryotic organisms” (SIROCCO) involving more than 20 European laboratories. |
